No matter what the next season brings, gatherings will no doubt be a bit different as we move ahead this year. 
For many of us in the party profession, the idea that events and parties would come to such an abrupt halt was utterly inconceivable.

​My method of dealing with the sudden stop of event work was to quickly shift focus to my online shop, and in doing so, I realized I could offer a similar "retail like product" to my event clients at a considerable volume discount.  Since I began working on an iPad pro in 2018, it has allowed me to work faster and more accurately than with the good old marker on paper.  I find the more hours I log with this tablet, the greater the symbiosis between artist and tool.  

When first conceiving of a virtual product that would work during these tough times, I recalled a wedding I attended in Napa Valley. This was back when food trucks were just begging to get hip. The bride's father asked the food truck to keep the cash register going until all the guests were fed, and then he would swing by an pay the total bill. I thought this was extremely generous at the time but then I calculated that he would have spent at least that for a catered affair, possibly even more. When the food truck was finished and paid, they simply drove off, so there were no tables to move, linens to wash, dishes to clean, or anything.  

Point is, sometimes the easy answer is the right one. 
I have attended a few small events this summer, with strict safety instructions.  And I can tell you, the precautions needed to comply with state regulations, and to keep safe, are complicated to arrange, and nearly impossible to enforce. Parties bring out impulsive behavior in everyone, young and old. 

​That said, I think we can still have some fun during these tough times.  Remembering that Caricatures can be as enjoyable as a gift, as they are at a party. At events caricatures are more about the experience, as gifts, they are more about the results.  So a little more time is spent with each drawing, making it that much more of a memorable gift.

I have created a short video that reveals some possibility for connection in this current time of uncertainty.  We know what we can't do, but let's think about what we can, and keep things going to preserve the balance of fun in our life.

how to BOOK A DIGITAL ARTIST at your online party

Booking a caricature artist at your party just stepped into the future (we were headed that way anyway).

Online events allow you to have parties that last 30 minutes or 30 hrs.
