Founded by artist Melita Lewis, Your Caricature.com has been bringing joy to thousands of party guests since 2006.
Her vision in creating the company, was to combine skilled artistry with quality entertainment to create a unique ‘‘artistic” experience that fits with almost any type, of event from kids parties to weddings.
Melita began drawing at a young age and, according to her mother, drew her first portrait at age two.
Although already quite experienced with drawing portraits and cartoons, Melita’s first attempt at drawing a "caricature" was after graduating from art school. Mostly she had doubts about her ability to draw that fast, as her biggest challenge in her illustration classes was meeting 1-2 week deadlines. And low and behold...the very first caricature took about an hour and twenty minutes ! She then spent the next five years working at events in Boston, perfecting her drawing quality and speed.
After moving to California in 2007, she took a job at Universal Studios in Hollywood, which helped her perfect her style and speed even more. Today she has been know to draw well over 20 people in one hour. That’s under 2.5 minutes per person.
Melita has met a network of great people through her close to 20 years in the field.
